Best Sites for Backlinks: SitesThat Pay

Write for Money
Everyone Needs Backlinks
Backlinks are the bread and butter of writing. They are URLs on the internet that link back to your article, blog, or website. It is the internet way of advertising for free. It can also be the internet way of making money. In the real world, people pay for advertising. But on the internet (well you could still pay for advertising) advertising through backlinks can pay you!
What You Need to Know About Backlinks
As a word of caution, some backlinks are better than others. Backlinks are either “do follow” or “no follow.” Both are good types of links but do follow are better. No follow will link to you but it will not help in search engine results like do follow links will. Do follow links will help drive you further up to the top of search engine results. Places like Digg will give you a good link, but they are no follow links. To find out if a link is do follow or no follow you can use two methods. Download the “NoDoFollow” add-on from Google (it will highlight do follow links in blue and no follow links in pink) or go to the page that has the link on it and, under the tabs at the top, click on “view” and then “source.” That will give you the source code. Scan it for the link. If the link has “no follow” written in by it, then it is no follow. If it does not, then it is automatically do follow.
Page rank also helps. Links on pages with a higher Google page rank will help more than links on pages with a lower page rank will. Additionally, some links can actually hurt you. Always avoid link farms. Those are sites that do nothing but list links without any connection to each other. The search engines are smart enough to pick up link farms and they will actually hurt your search engine ranking. You can download a page rank add on through Google. It will show you the page rank of every page on the internet that you look at.
The best backlinks are do follow links that are one way links to you from highly ranked sites. Even better than that is when the backlinks pay you! Yes, there are sites where you can actually earn from your link. Of course, you will have to have a Google Adsense ID. You can apply through the Google main page. There will likely be a short lapse from the time you apply to the time you get your ID. However, that ID is critical to making money on the internet.
Best Sites for Backlinks
This is a list of the best sites where you can easily place do follow links and earn money at the same time.
Bookmarking sites allow you to place small blurbs about your article or site along with a link to it. These usually only take about a minute or so to write. Of course, there are hundreds of social bookmarking sites on the internet, but most of them do not allow you to earn adsense money from those blurbs. I am giving you the sites that allow you to earn money from those backlinks. The blurbs will have ads on them and you will earn a share of that advertising revenue.
She Told Me
She Told Me is a really good bookmarking site. They have do follow links and you get all of the ad revenue but only for certain ads. You can also earn from Chitika ads on that site. The links you place there are called “scoops.” Scoops can be rated up or down by readers. I have found that scoops that are rated up show up on the front page of She Told Me and also show up well in the Google Searches themselves. Click here to join She Told Me.
Snipsly
Snipsly is fairly new too but they already have a fairly good page rank. They seem to be growing fast. Social networking is not an aspect of the site either, so you can pretty quickly write blurbs and add links. All of their links are do follow and they pay a very good 80% of the Adsense revenue. You can also earn from Kontera ads there. Click here to join Snipsly.
Page 360
Page 360 is fairly new. They do not have a great page rank yet, but their links are do follow and they pay 100% of the Google advertising revenue. Click here to join Page 360.
HubPages
HubPages is not a social bookmarking site. It is a writing site. However, they do encourage social networking and that seems to drive up the Hub Score they give you. You can write articles and include links to other articles. If your Hub score is more than 75, your links will be do follow. Of course, article writing takes longer than the one minute bookmarks do, but HubPages is a legitimate writing site with a good page rank and you will usually earn more for those articles than you would for just bookmarks. You can earn from Google, Amazon, Ebay, and Kontera ads on your HubPage articles. Click here to join Hubpages.
Xomba
Xomba also allows backlinks, but they are no follow. However, you can still earn Google adsense money from them and Xomba is a good place to write articles for money and also get some backlinks to your other sites. You have the option on Xomba of writing full length articles or writing just bookmarks with links. While they encourage socialization among writers, it is not required. Xomba only pays on Google Ads. Click here to join Xomba.
Redgage
Redgage has a good Google rank. The links are do follow and
they pay a specified amount per thousand views.
The problem I have with them is that the amount they pay per thousand
seems to vary widely. They set that amount when you first join. Supposedly, the pay per thousand views can
increase if you contribute enough (links, socializing within the site). It seems like it ranges from .60 to over a
dollar per thousand views. They also have daily contests where you can earn
$25.00 for contributions that day. It is a good place to get backlinks, but be
prepared to make the socialization a component of your contribution there. Join Redgage here.
Very good information! Learned a lot from this Hub! I have got a lot of traffic from Reddit.com ! If you haven't tried them you'll thank me after you do!
Vengab, I wish I knew the answer. I used the link and it it working. Did you go to "join us" on the front page? If so it should have take you to a screen to give your email and user name. Where did you get stopped with the error message?
nifty@50 -By the way, I love your user name. I will check out Reddit. Thanks
Great info - I have been very slack on back links myself
Good Information! I got good traffic from Snipsly and links are quickly indexed in Google. Another one is You-Say-Too, check out the review to know more about this site from my profile page.
Great hub. I joined most of the sites you mentioned.
Good information. You can never have too many backlinks! Snipsly is the only one I haven't used...yet.
Damn I did not know xomba were no follow backlinks, that is quite lame.
I'm bookmarking this so i can come back to it. So far, I've joined two of the sites you mentioned, although redpage gave me some kind of error. Thanks for a great - and really informative - hub. Backlisting is something I completely am not familiar with, and this has been a great introduction to it. Good luck.
thanks for the info!
It is the CAPTCHA that has been my problem
360 working now -
Why is infopirate.org
and savedit.at not on this list of revenue sharing sites.
Thankiks for this list! I didnt know about page360! I just joined with your refferal!
For me the jury is still out on a lot of these sites as i am not seeing great traffic, but I will reserve judgement. Thanks for collecting this information so more people can try. Maybe we can alter the landscape and make them profitable for all of us.
I would like to let you know that from Xomba writers can't get backlinks. Do your research well.
HSanAlim -thanks for the info. This list was the "best" sites for backlinks that pay. I tried to list the sites that have a Google ranking. Neither of the sites you show are ranked by Google yet. In SEO terms, the ranking of the backlink is on is very important. That does not mean those are not great sites for backlinkks, though.
Wiser -I have done my research -I personally write for Xomba. As I said in the description of Xomba, the backlinks are no follow, but they are real. They are called bookmarks. Check it out.
great information , thanks,i tried signing up with shetoldme and was told i have to wait 1 to 2 weeks before i am approved and given a username. Does it take that long to get approved?
ada, it only took me a couple of days. I am hearing those waiting times are increasing everywhere. I think it is because of the increased popularity in online writing. Hopefully, it will not actually take that long. It is worth it though, I think. She Told Me has really helped my articles because my She Told Me titles are actually showing up on page one of searches.
I have joined one of these and have submitted links. It is one of the major ones you've listed here yet I've seen absolutely no sign that my links are being noted or my articles read. I frequently wonder about such sites, "Why would any member of the general public ever come here?"
I understand what you are suggesting and appreciate your pointing out these sites, most of which I will join (hope springs eternal).
One thing I really like about Hubpages is that Google does browse them and lists hubs fairly consistently in their websearch results.
Actually Ron, I have had a pretty good experience with She Told Me and Snipsly showing up one page one of Google results. She Told Me shows up quicker and higher if it is rated up more. Of course, they are not going to be as likely to translate into an ad click because viewers will click away to the link for the full article. However, the potential is there and I have actually gotten some money off of my posts. For many writers, every penny counts.
good info i dont know befor
Great hub. I am checking out Shetold me and reddit!!! Thanks for the tip! James
I joined HubPages and enjoy being here. During my time here I realised that it might be profitable to write, so I will look into your advice. This might be a good nest egg for my retirement one day, who knows?
Equealla, you are exactly right. I have been writing online since March of 2009. In that year and a half, I have written several hundred articles. Most were at about 200 words and very quick to write. Some have been as long as 600 words. Right now, I am at a steady $200.00 per month. The great thing is that I continue to get that even if I don't write that month. My goal is a good $500.00 per month by the time I retire (in 7 years). This is not a get rich quick job, but it is a great investment that will steadily pay off for an indefinite period of time.
I have been reading a lot of these types of articles. So far yours was the most helpful. Thanks

Thanks doban, really interesting and useful advice. I've just joined HubPages and I think it's a really interesting community with lots of useful advice, to which I just begun to contribute. I mainly use Delicious for bookmarking, and sometimes Digg, Reddit and Stumble Upon but I'll check out the other services you mention too, and include my Google Adsense info!
I've never used Page360. I do use most of the others you mention though and I agree with you about Redgage. That one is essentially for backlinks and not money, in my opinion. Unless you get lucky enough to win a contest for $25. I'm looking forward to them increasing their site size because half the time I cannot log on.
As for SheToldMe, I recently took my Adsense off. I never made a penny, so thought I'd experiment w/using a backlink that doesn't always have my ID.
Thanks for the info!
Doban, I didn't know I was headed to Hubpages from the she told me site as I a member both places as well. I am bookmarking your article. Rated up!
I'm using a few of these to generate backlinks. I actually found this very hub through SheToldMe, so that site is generating a little bit of traffic for you!
Thanx for information!
There are many sites that will gain good traffic and pagerank you can put your backlinks to... but don't know them yet...
Great and useful content with some other great links to resources. I will be looking into the details of a lot of this much more closely. Thanks again.
I cant sign up at redgage, seems to be disabled.
i think that SheToldMe is the best of all.....
thanks

Goog information. It seems page360 is experiecing the same problem as xomba. It always gives error code when you want to sign up. Any idea on what to do next?
